Readius Aloud support

Readius Aloud reads your PDFs, EPUBs, and documents aloud in a natural voice, entirely on your iPhone.

Getting help

Send a message with the form below and you will get a reply by email. It helps to say which iPhone model and iOS version you are on, and what format the document was.

This is the same feedback form linked inside the app. It is a Google Form, hosted and handled by Google, not by this site. See the privacy policy for what that means.

The voice hasn't downloaded yet

Readius Aloud needs to download its speech engine and a starter voice (about 130MB) before it can read anything aloud. Tap the download banner on the library screen or in the reader, and keep the app open on Wi-Fi until it finishes. You only need to do this once.

My book or PDF resumed in the wrong place

Readius Aloud saves your position constantly, including when you leave the app or lock the screen. If a resume ever looks wrong, open the document and use the table of contents or page jump to get back to the right spot, then let it play a little so the saved position updates.

A PDF's text looks garbled or out of order

Some PDFs, especially scanned or oddly formatted ones, don't have a clean text layer to extract. If a document reads badly, try the document's EPUB edition if one is available, which generally extracts more reliably.

Playback stopped in the background

Readius Aloud uses standard background audio, the same mechanism as podcast and audiobook apps. If playback stops unexpectedly, check that Background App Refresh is enabled for Readius Aloud in Settings.

Privacy
